No specific information has been found so far about any kind of attack or sabotage centring the inauguration of the Padma Bridge after analysing intelligence and cyber monitoring, said Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Wednesday.
However, law enforcers are on high alert by increasing the intelligence surveillance and monitoring in the cyber world, said Rab DG after security measures taken at Jajira end of the Padma Bridge in Shariatpur.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, Rab has increased surveillance in the adjoining areas including Service Area-1 and Service Area-2 at both ends of the bridge.
Adequate Rab members and Commando Teams of Rab Special Force will be deployed at both ends to strengthen the security for the opening ceremony and the bridge to avoid any kind untoward situation or sabotage, he said.

Besides, security sweeping will be carried out by Rab Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad at important spots including the two ends of the bridge.
The DG said vehicles and visitors will be allowed to join the programme after being checked through Rab checkposts at the entrance of Padma Bridge and other important spots.
RAB medical teams will also be deployed to ensure primary health care in case of any need, he added.
The battalions responsible for ensuring security at both ends of the bridge will coordinate the security activities with the administration concerned, people's representatives and other law enforcement agencies through their respective control rooms, said Rab DG.
