“Although pregnant mothers get maternity leave, they’re deprived of constant care of their husbands. Besides, their husbands remain worried as they aren’t by the side of their wives,” the minister told a discussion in Dhaka.
The event was organised on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Day, organised by Breastfeeding Foundation and Institution of Public Health Nutrition at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.
“Initiatives will be taken to arrange paternity leave for husbands as well,” Minister Maleque said.
At the programme, directors and executive directors of various sectors were awarded for their contributions in breastfeeding campaign. Shaikh Yusuf Harun, Secretary of the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, presided over the function.
