He is identified as Md Shahidul Islam Azad, a student of Mechanical Engineering Department, hailing from Lohagara Upazila’s Barohatia Union.
Family members alleged that some people identified themselves as detectives and picked Shahidul up in a microbus from Moushumi residential area of Naya Bazar around 9:30pm.
Shah Alam, the victim’s father, alleged that although his son has been missing for three days, there is no information at police stations and DB office in this regard. They even did not allow lodging a general diary initially.
Finally he managed to file a general diary on Wednesday afternoon.
Friends of the missing youth said they went to local police station but were denied service there.
Md Mainur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Pahartali Police Station, said neither police, nor detectives detained anyone by the name.
“We are looking into who picked him up. We are trying to locate his position using mobile tracking technology,” he added.
