Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed deepest condolences for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco.
In a letter to Prime Minister of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch, PM Hasina said, she was deeply shocked to learn about the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco’s High Atlas Mountain range on Friday night, claiming more than eight hundred lives and leaving hundreds more injured.

On behalf of the people, the government of Bangladesh, and herself, the prime minister conveyed deepest condolences for the loss of so many lives and the destruction of properties in the tragedy.

Sheikh Hasina said, in this hour of grief, thoughts and prayers of the People of Bangladesh are with the members of the bereaved families and the people of Morocco.

The premier prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls as well as for the strength and fortitude of the Moroccan people to bear the irreparable losses and grant the speedy recovery of the injured.
