President Md Shahabuddin on Monday expressed profound shock at the death of former Chief of the Air Force, Bir Uttam Air Vice Marshal Sultan Mahmud.
The president prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the former Air Force chief.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said that Sultan Mahmud played an important role as the commanding officer of Sector Two and Sector One during the Liberation War in 1971.

“He led the Kilo Flight operation against Pakistani forces,” the PM recalled.
