The donation, Tk 9 lakh in cash and a Tk 1-lakh TV, was collected from the members of the Korean Association to help the Bangladesh people, particularly those with disabilities, in needs of support.

Ambassador Lee and Ryu held a virtual meeting with Samia Wazed Hossain, Chairperson of the Shuchona Foundation on January 25 and conveyed the Korean Association's donation plan.
Founded in 1978 in the beginning of the Korean settlement in Bangladesh, the Korean Association in Bangladesh has played an important role in advancing and strengthening the Republic of Korea and Bangladesh's relations.

Having a history of more than 40 years, the Association presently has about 1,200 members with seven affiliated functional sub-groups such as textile (RMG) group, investors' group, NGO group, self-employed group, and corporate representatives group, said the Embassy.
In the unprecedented situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Korean Association has made a fresh campaign to show its solidarity with Bangladesh local communities by providing emergency food packages, medicine, Covid-19 PPEs, and other items and equipment to help those in needs.

In December 2020, the Association donated PPEs and stationery to the students of Sarkari Shishu Paribar (girls) in Tejgaon, Dhaka, and delivered 10 lakh TK worth of food and clothing through Dhaka North City Corporation.
