Durul Huda, a harbour master commander of Mongla Port, said ‘Silver Discoverer’ anchored at the port in the afternoon with 61 tourists from the USA, India, France, Canada and the Netherlands and 92 crew members on board.
They will stay here for three days as part of a tour jointly arranged by Bangladesh’s Journey Plus and Pugmark Tours.
The tourists are scheduled to visit Dhangmai Dolphin Sanctuary, SundarbansHarbaria Forest office, Watch tower, Harbaria canal, Harmal canal and Churaputia on Monday while Tikona Island, Kokilmoni canal and Alorkol on Tuesday and Hironpoint and Watch Tower on Wednesday.
They will leave for Yangoon in Myanmar on Thursday.
Nazrul Islam, chief executive and owner of Pugmark Tours and Travels, said they will provide all kinds of logistic supports to the tourists and eight guides will accompany them.
Earlier, Silver Discoverer visited Maheshkhali Island and the Sundarbans twice in 2017 carrying 162 foreign tourists from 17 countries.
Bangladesh Forest Department will provide necessary security to the foreign tourists alongside Pugmark Tours.
