Faridpur, Feb 22 (UNB) – A man was beaten to death, allegedly by his son, over land dispute at Modhhopara village in Nagarkanda upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Harun-or-Rashid Chowdhury, 65, son of late Danesh Chowdhury of the village.
Quoting locals, Union Parishad Chairman Kusum Kumar Das said Harun had a dispute with his younger son Milon Chowdhury over ownership of a plot.
In the morning, the father-son duo had an altercation over transferring the land’s ownership. Harun lost consciousness after his son hit him with a spade around 6:30am. He succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Miraz Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Nagarkanda Police Station, said Harun’s wife Halimun Begum has filed a case against her son.
