Relief items were distributed among 200 families as part of the ongoing relief programme in Mirpur on behalf of the ministry for the low-income people during the coronavirus outbreak.
Each family got 10kg rice, 2kg potato, 2kg pulses, one hand sanitiser and a piece of soap.
He said the government has adequate stock of food grains.
Under the overall supervision of the government, almost 100 percent paddy has already been harvested in haor areas. Boro paddy is also being harvested in other parts of the country, said Kamal Ahmed.
He also thanked the students, youths, local leaders and people of different professions for coming forward to help the farmers in harvesting paddy.
The state minister said in order to revive the economy, it is necessary to ensure that the real victims get the benefits of the incentive packages announced by the Prime Minister.
He said irregularities and corruption in incentive packages would not be tolerated.
