Ratargul Swamp Forest, known as Amazon of Bangladesh, is newly equipped with four much-needed facilities that include parking places, visitor sheds, tourist shops and public toilets giving a big relief to the tourists of the spot.
The project was inaugurated by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin at a cost of around Tk 2.15 crore on Wednesday.
At the time of the inauguration, the minister said, “In the interest of the people and for the development of the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should once again vote to power."

Addressing the people living in the tourist centre Swamp Forest Ratargul, the minister said, "With the cooperation of your local administration and local people and the forest department, it has been possible to transform swamp forest Ratargul as one of the prime tourist Centers of the country.”
In the end, the minister said, "I will work together with Imran Ahmed, MP of Sylhet-4 constituency and minister for expatriates' welfare and overseas employment in the future to make Swamp Forest Ratargul more tourist-friendly and to revolutionise the lives and livelihoods of the people related to the tourist centre.”
