Brahmanbaria, Mar 6 (UNB) – A trader was killed by robbers at Panishwar Dakkhin Bazar in Sarail upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Moshahid Ullah Rafiq, 32, a grocery shop owner and son of Abdul Aziz of the village.
Locals said a gang of robbers swooped on Rafiq’s shop around 3:30am. They held Rafiq and salesman Moshtaq hostage.
The shop owner scuffled with robbers who hacked him with a sharp weapon.
Rafiq died on the spot.
Mofiz Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sarail Police Station, said they were investigating the incident.
