Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested two suspected members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Sonir Akhra area on Sunday night.
The arrestees were identified as Jamal Uddin Rafik, 26, and Anowar Hossain, 25.
CTTC chief Md Monirul Islam said the two were arrested in connection with five bomb attacks in five areas of the capital including Gulistan, Malibagh, Science Lab and Khamarbari.
The attacks were carried out last year to demolish the morale of the law enforcers, he said.
