BGMEA President Dr Rubana Huq told the President that workers got their salaries and festival bonuses properly ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. “I hope all garment workers will get their salary and festival bonus before the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha also,” she said.
President Hamid told the BGMEA delegation that the young generation is very meritorious. “Take pragmatic steps to create entrepreneurship opportunities for them,” President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin quoted him as telling the delegation.
President Hamid made the felicitation when a 37-member delegation led by BGMEA President Dr Rubana Huq, met him at Bangabhaban on Tuesday.
He asked the BMGEA representatives to generate new investments for the betterment of the country and its people.
Lauding the contributions of RMG sector, President Abdul Hamid said Bangladeshi products have already earned reputation worldwide which are being displayed and sold in the global markets.
“Its commercial potential is enhancing gradually,” he observed suggesting the BGMEA leaders ensure quality of production, diversify of products and good relations between the factory-owners and workers to boost production.
Secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban were also present.
