This was ascertained from visiting kitchen markets on Saturday, the third day of Eid-ul-Azha.
The retailers claimed that the supply of pepper has decreased due to rain and transport crisis due to the Eid journey. So the price is upward.

Visiting Karwan Bazar Kitchen Market on Saturday, the UNB correspondent saw green chillies being sold at Tk600 per kg.
Rakib, a retailer of green chilli at Karwan Bazar, said that there is no scope to sell green chilli at a lower price, as he bought one palla (5 kg) of green chilli from wholesale at Tk 2500.
So a kg of green chilli has to be sold at Tk600, otherwise he would face a loss.
