The award recipients are Hanzala Han (Poetry), Kamrun Nahar Sheila (Fiction), Faisal Ahmed (Essay) and Chowdhury Shaheed Quader (Liberation War Literature).
The award was conferred on them at a ceremony at Bengal Shilpalay, Dhanmondi in the capital on Saturday.
National Professor Dr Anisuzzaman presided over the ceremony while eminent writer Selina Hossain was present as the chief guest.
Legendary cartoonist Rafiqun Nabi and thespian Asaduzzaman Noor were also present at the ceremony as guests of honour.
The ceremony was followed by a poetry recitation and sarod performance.
Asaduzzaman Noor recited poems and Sohani Majumdar, a student of Bengal Parampara, performed sarod at the event.
Kali O Kalam, country’s renowned monthly magazine on art, culture and literature, has awarded a total of 43 young writers and poets with this prestigious award in five categories since 2008.
