BNP in some cases is deadlier than dengue, according to Information Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud.
Dengue mosquitoes bite people and BNP burns living people with fire, burning cars. Therefore, like dengue, BNP has to be prevented, he said.

"BNP never does politics for the people and its top leaders want BNP to remain a stick force,” said Hasan.

"BNP never stands by the people in dengue prevention or flood-disaster, even during corona, they have only done photo sessions and their politics is only for Begum Zia and Tarique Rahman. Now they are talking about the punishment of Tarek and Zubaida.
“And their top leaders do not allow anyone from the party to hold any election, even if they stand for the post of union council or municipal councillor. Why should people do a party that cannot be elected? In other words, those leaders want BNP to remain a ‘lathial’ force and that is why they take sticks to the procession,” he added.
