Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday warned that the conspirators are getting ready ahead of the upcoming general elections.
But, Awami league leaders and activists are also getting ready to challenge them, Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks while addressing a development and peace rally organised by the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) at the IEB headquarters in the capital's Ramna on Monday.
“Three BNP leaders and one Jatiya Party leader have gone abroad. Things like these happen a lot during elections,” Quader said.

He said Bangabandhu was in power for only three years and seven months after independence.
“He had just started the work of nation-building. But he was killed.”
Referring to Battle of Plassey of 1757, Quader said: “This time Mushtaq in place of Mir Jafar and Ziaur Rahman in place of General Yar Latif had conspired against Bangabandhu.”
"The killing was done to wipe out Bangabandhu's family. Ziaur Rahman and Mushtaq are the masterminds of August 15. Ziaur Rahman and Mushtaq are the masterminds of the jail killing on November 3, 1975,” he said.

“The aim was to wipe out the ideals of the liberation war by eliminating Bangabandhu and his family. Later the August 21 grenade attack against Sheikh Hasina was carried out because they failed to kill her on August 15, 1975.”
Referring to the then BNP’s tenure, mQuader said the BNP had banned the March 7 speech after coming to power.
“They banned the ‘Joy Bangla’ and other slogans. But under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ‘Joy Bangla’ has been made the national slogan,” he added.

Referring to the contribution of engineers in the country’s development, he said engineers have played the key role to facilitate the current development of Bangladesh.
He urged the BNP leaders and activists to stay away from politics of conspiracy and not to commit arson violence against people.
“If BNP comes to power again, they will destroy democracy. They will wipe out Awami league leaders and activists and destroy the ideals of liberation war. If BNP comes to power, they will turn this country into Pakistan.”
Bangladesh Awami League’s Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Md Abdus Sabur presided over the rally while IEB General Secretary Engineer SM Manjurul Haque Manju moderated the programme.
IEB President Sabur said that the ICT sector has developed tremendously under the leadership of Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

“Mega projects including Bangabandhu Karnaphuli Tunnel, Rampal Power Plant, Metro Rail have been implemented due to the long-term rule of the Sheikh Hasina government,” he said.
The IEB president urged all to bring Sheikh Hasina back into power to build an engineering-friendly Bangladesh to build a smart Bangladesh.
SM Manjurul Haque Manju said Bangladesh has achieved unprecedented success under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
