Jatiya Party Chairman and Deputy Leader of Opposition GM Quader said on Sunday that a fair election is not possible in the current system.
"We do not think that any change will happen by keeping the Prime Minister in her place. A fair election can only be possible if the current system is changed," he said while talking to journalists in his Banani office this afternoon.

"Many things depend on what new system comes," he added.
In reply to a question, the Jatiya Party Chairman said that it is not possible for any party to pick qualified candidates for all the seats in our country's elections. Therefore, elections have to be done in alliance with some parties. The leadership of the two major parties was ultimately contested by two alliances. At some point, all parties lost their independence and merged into two parties, he said.

He, however, said, "We are preparing for the election of 300 seats and working at the grass root level to strengthen the party. But we will make the final decision about it at the time of the election."
