DMP's Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Khandker Mahid Uddin on Wednesday said that the DMP will not give permission to Jamaat-e-Islami to hold its rally on October 28 (Saturday) at Shaplachattar in the city.
They have submitted an application for permission. The High Court has observations about this party. A political party like Jamaat-e-Islami will not be allowed in places like Shaplachattar to hold the rally, he said in response to a question from journalists at his office of the DMP headquarters.
About the grand rally of the BNP in front of its central office in Nayapaltan on October 28, the official said that the BNP has to hold its October 28 rally at the place where they will be allowed.

He also called upon all the political parties to follow the conditions, which are given in the legal framework during issuing permission of holding rallies.
"It is better to hold a rally of a political party in a field of Dhaka city. We have told the political parties so at various times," he said.

"We, on behalf of the DMP, have requested all political parties to behave responsibly," the official said.
When asked whether there is any intelligence information on any possible sit-in protests or any sabotage, he said that there is no specific information yet.
