Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said killing people would not bring the BNP to power.
"You (BNP) are doing fire terrorism. They burned people. They are burning buses and cars, killing police, killing people. You can never come to power by killing and burning. To come to power, you have to come through voting,” he said.
He said this while addressing a public reception organized by the district Awami League at Manikganj Government High School Khela Ground on Saturday evening.
Addressing the BNP, the minister said, "You want to come to power through the back door. You opposed during independence, you created Razakar-Al-Badr. You killed Bangabandhu. You (BNP) have carried out a series of bomb and grenade attacks.”
The minister said, “The people of Manikganj are with the Awami League, boat and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I have been an MP three times, a minister twice after gaining the confidence of the prime minister. We've spent the last five years with you. You know, we worked with the pain and suffering of that death of Corona, there were many happy aspects, but the days were not always happy.”
Presided over by District Awami League President Golam Mohiuddin, the function was addressed, among others, by District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam, Vice President Advocate Abdul Majid Foto, Joint Secretary Sultanu Azam Khan, among others.
