Australia secured a 62-run victory over Pakistan in their ICC World Cup clash on Friday.
Australia amassed an imposing total of 367/9 in their 50 overs while batting first. In response, Pakistan were bowled out for 305, marking their second consecutive defeat in the World Cup after the previous loss against India.
Abdullah Shafique and Imam Ul Haque initiated the chase with an impressive 134-run partnership in the opening, providing Pakistan with a strong foundation. However, subsequent batters couldn't capitalize on this start.

Shafique scored 64, while Imam made 70. Pakistan failed to secure any 100-run partnership thereafter, which was crucial for chasing a target of 368 runs.
In the fourth-wicket partnership, Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel contributed 58 runs. However, this wasn't enough to mount a significant challenge to Australia's total. Pakistan lost all their wickets with 4.3 overs remaining.
Adam Zampa of Australia claimed four wickets, conceding 53 runs, while Pat Cummins and Marcus Stoinis each took two wickets.
Initially, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field. However, their decision raised questions as the Australian openers built a formidable 259-run partnership for the first wicket.

Despite two chances to break this partnership, Pakistan couldn't seize the opportunities.
In the fifth over, Usama Mir dropped an easy catch from David Warner when he was at 10. Warner proceeded to achieve a remarkable 163 off 124 balls, including 14 fours and 9 sixes. His partner, Mitchell Marsh, added a sturdy 121 off 108 balls.
However, none of the other Australian batters managed to surpass the 30-run mark.
Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan secured five wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs, while Haris Rauf claimed 3 wickets for 83 runs. In the end, their efforts went in vain as they ended up with the losing side.
