“The test by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Buet, shows Walton AC consumes power worth Tk 3.74 per hour, assessing Walton brand inverter AC is more than 60 percent energy efficient,” said a press release.

Earlier this year, a BUET team collected six samples of one ton inverter split AC from Walton factory at Chandra in Gazipur and conducted tests.

The test was conducted under the supervision of BUET professors Md. Zahurul Haque and Dr. Alok Kumar Majumdar on February 3.

The test shows that Walton's one ton of inverter AC consumes 0.715 kilowatts electricity per hour in eco mode and according to the current price of electricity, the price is only Tk3.74.
