Announcing the suspension of Awami League's political and organizational programmes in the current situation, the party's general secretary Obaidul Quader declared that the only program now is to stand by the helpless people.
Quader said this at a regular briefing at his official residence this morning.
Obaidul Quader called upon all the leaders and workers of Awami League to continue to stand by the helpless, miserable and destitute people during this crisis of Corona and on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Besides, the general secretary of the Awami League requested the able representatives of the party to extend a helping hand to the sad, helpless and sick workers of the party.
He said that there is no need for lockdown if people wear masks and follow hygiene rules.
Lockdown is meaningless if they show indifference without following hygiene rules, he added.

He said that wearing the mask properly is the biggest protection against getting infected.
Corona infection has now spread from city to village, at one time many people thought that Corona would not affect the rural people. He said that the virus has now spread from village to village.
Obaidul Quader said that strict hygiene rules have to be followed besides wearing a mask.
