Bangladesh: Showers to continue, no respite in sight
More rains are likely to drench Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, the weather department has predicted.
"Light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy showers at places over the country," it said.
The Met office recorded the highest 121mm of rainfall in Khulna's Chuadanga in the last 24 hours till 9am.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded in Sylhet at 31.3 degrees while the minimum was 23.8 degrees in Rangpur and Chattogram.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, as per the weather bulletin.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low over the central part of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area persists. Under its influence, a deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, centre of the well-marked low, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the northwest Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over the North Bay.

Rains to drench Bangladesh in 24 hours
The weather department has predicted light to moderate showers in Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, with monsoon being fairly active over the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” Bangladesh Meteorological Department said in its forecast Wednesday.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The Met office recorded the highest 44 mm of rainfall in Chuadanga district in 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to the Northeast Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay.

Rains likely to quell heat in Bangladesh
Expect some respite from the scorching heat and frustrating humidity, as the weather department has predicted monsoon showers across the country in 24 hours.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka & Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country", the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its forecast on Wednesday.
The Met office recorded the highest 64mm of rainfall in Dinajpur district in 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday.

The mercury reached 35.4 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Sylhet, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees in Rangamati.
Meanwhile, the axis of monsoon trough runs through the centre of the well-marked low, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across central parts of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over the North Bay, as per the bulletin.

Bangladesh Metrological Department on Thursday predicted light or moderate rains or thundershowers in parts of the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am.

Day temperature may rise slightly, and night temperature may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius, the BMD said.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may fall slightly, the BMD said.

A reprieve from the sweltering summer heat is on the way, as showers are likely to drench the eight divisions of Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, the weather department said Saturday.

A mild heatwave is sweeping through Khulna division, and it may ease in some places.
The highest temperature today was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius in Khulna district, while the minimum temperature was 22.4 degrees in Barishal's Bhola.
The weather department recorded 32mm of rainfall – the highest – in Rangpur's Tetulia in the last 24 hours till 6pm Saturday.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, the BMD said.
