Fire at Karnaphuli EPZ factory brought under control
A fire broke out at Zant Accessories factory in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) in Chattogram's Patenga area on Friday afternoon, but it was quickly brought under control.
According to the Chattogram Divisional Fire Service control room telephone operator Mozammel, the blaze erupted around 3pm, prompting the deployment of eight fire-fighting units from various stations, including Karnaphuli, EPZ, and Agrabad.

He said that the units worked promptly to douse the flames, and the fire was brought under control by around 4:30pm.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately confirmed.

Fire breaks out at Karnaphuli EPZ
A fire broke out in the warehouse of a garment factory in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) of Chattogram port city on Saturday morning, officials said.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire broke out in the abandoned warehouse of Cansas-2, a garment manufacturer, around 10.30am and spread soon, said Sagar Ahmed, station officer of KEPZ Fire Service.

Two fire tenders were pressed into service and it took nearly an hour to extinguish the blaze, around 11.25 am.
“A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire,” he said.
