Maritime ports asked to hoist signal 3
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra were advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3 on Sunday.
The Met Office, in a bulletin, said that under the influence of strong monsoon, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and the adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Rain, thunder showers likely
The Met Office has forecast rain in all eight divisions of the country in its 24 hours bulletin.
In a regular update on Monday evening, it said rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet divisions during 24 hours commencing from 6pm.
One or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions might be hit by rain during this period.
A trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area while a seasonal low lies over South Bay.
In its five-day weather bulletin, the Met Office said rain and thundershowers activity is likely to continue.
Sunday’s highest temperature was recorded at 36.6 degree Celsius in Jashore and the lowest 18.3C in Tetulia.

Rain likely in 6 divisions
The Met Office has forecast rain for some areas in six divisions.
In a regular bulletin, it said rain or thundershowers is likely to hit one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during 24 hours commencing from 6pm Sunday.
The Met Office said the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Meanwhile, it forecast continuation of the mild heat wave sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore, Chudanga and Kumarkhali.
Sunday’s highest temperature was recorded at 37.5 degree Celsius in Chuadanga and Kumarkhali and the lowest 14.4C in Tetulia.
