Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said Dhaka University has to come up with innovative quality research to improve the standard of education.

The pandemic has caused a dramatic rise in mental problems in people, irrespective of age and sex. An increase in suicides and ideations of self-harm among students of Dhaka University (DU), however, is a matter of concern, say experts.

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman has said the Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) has been producing skilled and quality journalists for the country from its inception.

Although Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for taking online classes to recoup the losses caused by the suspension of academic activities for coronavirus outbreak, he also opined that internet access of all students needs to be checked before taking any decision in this regard.
