Man stabbed dead in Dhaka's Lalbagh
A 39-year-old man was stabbed to death in the Lalbagh area of Dhaka during the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Md Mahbub Alam, son of Abul Hossain, from Char Maguria village in Madaripur Sadar upazila.
He was living with his family in a rented house in the Lalbagh Shaheednagar area. He was a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver.

Abdus Selim Mia, sub-inspector (SI) of Lalbagh Police Station, said that around 2 am two teenagers reported finding a body in a bloody state Jagannath Shaha Road.
The body was later sent to the morgue for an autopsy on Wednesday morning after completing the due procedures.
The SI also confirmed that an investigation is underway.
The deceased's maternal uncle, Alauddin, said that he had left home to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
Around 5am, he received news that his nephew had been stabbed to death by miscreants.

Unidentified man's body found in city
Police recovered the body of a man from the city's Lalbagh police station area on Friday.
The identity of the deceased, aged around 35, could not be ascertained immediately, said police.
Nuton Miah, sub-inspector (SI) of Lalbagh police station, said they found the man lying unconscious near the BGB-2 gate around 11:15am. Later, they took him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12:20pm, the SI added.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, SI Nuton Miah said.

Lalbagh plastic factory fire doused
A fire that broke out at a plastic factory in the city's Lalbagh area around noon on Friday has been doused, officials said.
The fire started around 12pm at the tin-shed factory in the Shahid Nagor Bou Bazar area.
“Twelve fire tending units were pressed into service and it took them an hour and a half to contain the flames,” said Md Shahjahan Shikdar, deputy assistant director (media cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

"The firemen doused the flames completely around 3:45pm," he added.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. "The origin of the fire will be known after a probe," the officer said.
