Environment Minister stops burning wastes at Osmani Udyan
Environment Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury on Thursday stopped burning wastes at an open place in the city’s Osmani Udyan.
Govt to provide digital skills training to 80,000 students
He went to the spot instantly after seeing smoke of burning wastes from his office room of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry.
The minister asked Dhaka South City Corporation authority to take action against the burning of wastes as the smoke emitted from it was polluting air.

In response, an executive magistrate of DSCC went there and fined PF corporation, a contract firm, with Tk one lakh for polluting air by burning wastes in an open place, said a PID handout.
Environment Secretary Dr Farhina Ahmed was present.

Ramna Park
Located at Shahbag in Dhaka, this public park is built around a magnificent lake. Its main feature is that every year a new Bengali New Year celebration is held at the base of the great Banyan tree inside Ramna park. The cultural organization Chhayanat has been organizing the program since the first Baishakh of 1967 or 1374 Bengali year.
At the time of its establishment i.e. in 1610, during the Mughal period, Ramna Park was extended from the old High Court building to the present road building.
Every day from the early morning, Ramna Park gets louder at the footsteps of people coming for exercise and the chirping of various species of birds. On holidays the place becomes the most crowded place with people of all ages.

Botanical Garden
National Botanical Garden is considered to be the largest center for plant species conservation, research, and exhibition in Bangladesh. This public park is adjacent to Mirpur in Dhaka. Founded in 1961, the herbarium is home to a vast collection of about 800 species of plants, including rare and exotic plants. Its small lake and the artificial island built in the middle of the lake draw the attention of every visitor.
