UCB workshop on effective note-taking ends on high note
A free workshop titled ‘The Art of Effective Note-taking: Why is it hard? How can I become better’ was organized by Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the exclusive partner of Monash College Australia, to share insights about different techniques of taking notes precisely.
It was a free workshop arranged for Bangladeshi students in collaboration with Monash College Australia.
The workshop continued from 11 am-12 pm on Friday, and the participants took part in it through Zoom.

Mark Rooney, Learning Skills Adviser, Monash College Diplomas, Monash College, conducted the workshop virtually. He shed light on different pertinent topics related to effective note-taking skills such as different note-taking methods, types of note-taking, 5 R’s of note-taking, and how these techniques can be applied in real-life situations.
A large number of enthusiastic learners participated in the workshop where they got to learn new things, which will help them develop this particular skill and take better notes while attending classes. The attendees also received a joint certificate of participation from Monash College and Universal College Bangladesh.
UCB has recently opened doors for Bangladeshi students by inaugurating its campus in Gulshan, Dhaka. World-class higher education necessary to build progressive future generation: Dipu Moni
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said quality higher education has now become a necessity to develop a progressive future generation.
She emphasized the importance of quality higher education while officially inaugurating the state-of-the-art campus of Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), which is the exclusive partner of globally reputed Monash College, Australia.
“In order to thrive in this fast-paced world, we need to focus on ensuring the best possible education facilities for our young generation. Developed countries are equipped with those capabilities due to their strong financial backup, but I firmly believe that we can also ensure better educational facilities with the collective efforts from everyone, and I thank UCB for stepping up,” Dr Dipu Moni said at the event on Sunday.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi joined the ceremony as the special guest while Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel, Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Jeremy Bruer and UCB Group CEO Dr Sandeep Ananthanarayanan joined as the guests of honour.
The ceremony featured a landmark presentation on STS Knowledge City in addition to keynote speeches by distinguished guests and additional presentations from UCB dean of academic affairs Sarwar Uddin Ahmed and UCB head of marketing Amid Hossain Chowdhury.
STS Group is the same company that brought ISD and DPS STS Schools to Bangladesh, as well as healthcare through the Evercare Group of Hospitals and now international education through Universal College Bangladesh. Monash University, the latest collaborative partner of UCB, is a world top-100 ranked university, according to the QS 2022 rankings.

Monash partner UCB organises workshop on digital skills
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the exclusive partner of Monash College Australia, recently organised the workshop "Digital Skills for a Great Career and Higher Education."
UCB arranged this expert-curated workshop to provide the learners with a glimpse of the digital skills they need to flourish in their education and career.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Shannon Rios, manager of education strategy, learning and teaching at Monash College Diplomas.

He discussed different things related to digital literacy, higher education expectations, modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment (Moodle), and future digital skills like 3D printing, app development, and web design.
All the attendees received joint certificates of participation from Monash College and UCB.
