Low pressure over Bay: Maritime ports asked to hoist local cautionary signal 3
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3 as a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay.
The Low pressure area formed over Nowethwest Bay and adjoining area is likely to intensify, said the weather department in a bulletin.
Under its influence squally weather may affect the maritime ports , North Bay and adjoining areas of the country, said the weather department.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
They were also advised not to venture into the deep sea during the period.

The country’s maritime ports have been advised to hoist the local cautionary signal three to alert vessels of a possible squall as deep convection is taking place over the North Bay, said the weather department on Monday.
Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, the North Bay, and the adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said the Met office.

And so, maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal three.
"All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice," it added.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in most parts of the country with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country under the impact of the deep convection, Bangladesh Meteorological Department said.

Deep convection refers to the thermally driven turbulent mixing that moves air parcels from the lower to the upper atmosphere.

Under its influence a steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay and adjoining areas, said a special bulletin of the Met office.
