DNCC holds street march to aware people against mosquitoes
The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will try its best to eradicate mosquitoes as dengue could be more serious this time compared to last year, said its mayor on Wednesday.
"Dengue can be more serious this time compared to last year. We will do what needs to be done taking along my councilors and everyone in the city corporation. We will conduct campaign from ward to ward, " DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said responding to a question while participating in an Anti-Aedes and Anti-Dengue Citizen Awareness street rally in the city's Uttara.
Addressing the rally, the mayor announced a 10-day mosquito eradication drive under the DNCC area.
He warned that to legal action will be taken If Aedes larvae are found in any place.
The mayor said action would be taken against anyone responsible in mosquito breeding, adding that if Aedes larvae are found in any establishment of government, private or semi-government, action will be taken against them. They will be fined, he added.

The DNCC has already launched a campaign in the vulnerable wards to eradicate Aedes mosquito, a carrier of dengue. The 10-day mosquito (dengue and Aedes) eradication drives would run from May 17 to 26, the mayor said.

Case filed by ACC against NRB Bank director and his wife
The Anti-Corruption Commission ( ACC) on Monday filed a case against Director of NRB Bank M Badiuzzaman and his wife Nasrin Zaman for misappropriating TK 2.53 crore.
The case was filed with the Dhaka Coordinated Office of ACC on Monday after the investigation.
