Two independent candidates from Bogura-1 and-6 constituencies were allegedly attacked by supporters of ruling Awami League candidates during the balloting in the district when the 12th parliamentary national election was underway.
However, the balloting concluded amid allegations of irregularities, clashes, vote stuffing and so on.

Independent candidate Abdul Mannan who contested from Bogura-6 seat alleged that supporters of the boat candidate Rajibul Ahsan Ripu attacked him when he was entering a polling station.
Moreover, the boat supporters dragged out his agents from polling stations and intimidated voters not to come to the centres, he said, adding that the Awami and Jubo League were responsible for a low turnout of voters.
Another independent candidate Mostafizur Rahman Shyamal who fought from Bogura-1 seat, also alleged that the supporters of the AL candidate Shahdara Mannan swooped on him when he was visiting a centre in Sonatola upazila.

He alleged that supporters of the AL cast fake votes at centres.
Sonatola upazila nirbahi officer and also assistant returning officer Rabeya Asfar said they received allegations of fake vote and they were investigating the matter.
The presence of the voters in rural areas was high compared to the urban areas in the district.
