Two people were killed and another one injured in a deadly gun attack on a car carried out by assailants in Chattogram early Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Abdullah and Md. Manik, both residents of Hathazari.
The incident occurred near the entrance of Bakalia Access Road under Chawkbazar Police Station at around 2:45am.

Ikhtiyar Uddin, OC of Baklia Police Station, said that three youths riding a motorcycle stopped the private car and opened fire, injuring three people inside.
Local residents rescued the victims and rushed them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead.
The injured is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
On information, police arrived at the scene, but the motive behind the murders remains unclear.
Meanwhile, one of the six individuals in the private car informed the police that the killings were carried out in retaliation for the recent arrest of Chittagong terrorist Chhoto Sajjad by the police at Bashundhara Shopping Mall in Dhaka.
