Two activists of United People's Democratic Front were killed in a reported gunfight between its two factions at Durchhari village in Rangamati's Naniarchar upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Rabi Kumar Chakma, 65, and Shanto Chakma alias Bimol, 52. Rohintu Chakma alias Tipon was seriously injured during the gunfight.

Angya Marma, Khagrachhari district unit organiser of UPDF Prosit Group, said the three UPDF members came under attack while they were staying in a house at the village.
He also said that the injured Rahintu Chakma is still missing.

He blamed the UPDF (Democratic) for the attack. The UPDF (Democratic), however, denied any involvement in the incident.
Mahalchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nasir Uddin said police are yet to reach the spot as the area is remote. Details will be known when they return from there.
