A three-day international exhibition titled “Safe HVACR and Cold Chain 2025” began at the International Convention Center Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on Thursday.
Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest.
At the inaugural ceremony, he said that cold chain entrepreneurs are ensuring the country's food security.
“The cold storage is playing a special role in the agricultural economy by preserving various products including mango pulp, tomatoes, carrots, meat, and dates. A Korean company has come forward to preserve onions,” he added.
Mustafa Azad Chowdhury, president of Bangladesh Cold Storage Association, Bilal Belut, commerciaSU/counselor of the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka, Han Jingchao, president of Trade and Services Branch of Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB), Nur Alam, president of ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter, Engineer Md. Hasmatuzzaman, former president of ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter, and Md. Faizul Alam, managing director of Sever International Limited, spoke in the event among others.

The speakers demanded the development of the cold chain system to maintain the supply through proper management of the country's perishable products. They highlighted the importance of cold chain infrastructure in Bangladesh's agriculture and food sector.
Organised by Saver International Limited, the exhibition is open to all visitors from 10 am to 7 pm every day until Saturday.
Local and foreign institutions companies related to HVACR and cold chain are participating in the exhibition.
