At least 63 people were injured in an accident involving three vehicles on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Narsingdi on Saturday, police said.
The identities of the injured could not be immediately determined.
The accident occurred in front of the Roads and Highways Department in the Basail area of Sadar Upazila, involving a bus, a truck, and a private car.
Eyewitnesses said that a Sylhet-bound truck carrying goods collided with a Dhaka-bound bus of the Pran RFL company in the Basail area of the highway that morning. At that time, a private car came and hit the bus, leaving a total of 63 people injured in the three vehicles.
They were rescued and taken to the 100-bed district hospital, with two sent to Dhaka in critical condition, said Monir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Itakhola Police Station.
The vehicles involved in the accident have been taken into police custody, the OC added.
