A five-member probe body was formed on Sunday to look into the derailment of nine bogies of a train at Tejer Bazar in Nangalkot upazila of Cumilla district on Sunday.
Anisur Rahman, Chattogram Railway East division transport officer, was made the chief of the committee.
Earlier in the afternoon, train communication between Dhaka and Chattogram was suspended as the Jamalpur-bound ‘Bijoy Express’ train from Chattogram veered off the tracks in the area after crossing Gunoboti rail station as the rail tracks bent due to hot weather.

Already a relief train from Laksham reached the spot and the salvage operation will begin after the arrival of another relief train from Chattogram.

They were taken to different hospitals including the Nangalkot Upazila Health Complex.
