Police recovered the body of a 52-year-old man from the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road in Fatullah of Narayanganj on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Md Imen Ali of Jamalpurâs Islampur upazila. Imen was a fish trader, said Sub-Inspector Md. Kamal of Fatullah Model Police Station.
Locals discovered the body lying on the Dhaka-bound lane of the link road on the overpass in Bhuiya area and informed the police. Later, a team from Fatullah Police Station went to the spot and recovered the body around 7:30 am, the SI said.
The victim had injuries on the back of his head and ear, and one of his wrists was broken. âWe suspect he may have been hit by a fast-moving vehicle while crossing the road,â the police official added.
However, locals suspect that Imen might have been attacked by robbers with sharp weapons while on his way to purchase fish from a nearby market early in the morning.
Investigations are ongoing to confirm the cause of death, the SI said.
The body was sent to Sadar General (Victoria) Hospital for an autopsy, he added.
