Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, now in Turkey, has sought global and regional cooperation for safe, dignified and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingyas to their place of origin in Myanmar.
Adviser Hossain made the call during a panel discussion, titled ‘Forced Displacement and International Responsibility’, held on Saturday as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025.
The other panelists were Michael Spindelegger, Director General, International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and Murat Yeşiltaş, Director of Foreign Policy Research, Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA).

Bangladesh is hosting over 1.2 million Rohingyas in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camps and Bhasan Char Island.
The adviser provided a historical perspective of the genesis of the Rohingya crisis during the panel discussion.
Besides, he discussed the impacts of this crisis on events of regional and global importance, far and near.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is being held under the theme of “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World” from April 11-13.
During the discussion, he emphasised that regularisation of the legal migration process will prevent the tendency of illegal crossing of the borders.
