The Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday formed 12 monitoring committees to keep up food production and minimize the losses of farmers caused by flood.
Each committee consists of five members including additional secretaries of the ministry. A total of 60 top officials of the ministry have been entrusted with the responsibility, said a press release of the ministry.
The activities of the committees will be monitored by Secretary Md Nasiruzzaman and coordinated by Additional Secretary Md Hasanuzzaman.
The committee members will hold regular online meetings and coordinate incentives distribution programmes in 28 flood-affected districts to help farmers to recoup losses caused by flood.
