Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is prepared for the post-disaster response as the tip of cyclone Sitrang has hit the coastal areas of Bangladesh.
BAF has kept enough aircraft and helicopters ready for the response, the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said Monday.
The full cyclone will cut its path through Barishal and Chattogram coasts by midnight, the weather department said.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department asked Mongla and Payra seaports to hoist danger signal No. 7.
The coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and their offshore islands also came under danger signal No. 7.
Chattogram and Cox's Bazar ports were advised to hoist danger signal No. 6.
