The leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) helped a poor farmer harvest paddy at a time when agro-labour is scarce due to the coronavirus outbreak.
A group of BCL activists, led by local Chhatra League leader Mizanur Rahman, went to Kherihar village in Shahrasti upazila after getting a phone call from farmer Md Jahangir Alam.
BCL’s Chitoshi West Union Unit leader Rahman said they were standing beside the helpless and poor farmers as per the directive of the student body’s President Al Nahian Khan Joy, General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee and District BCL unit President Zahir Uddin Mizi.
They are helping the poor farmers as they are facing labour shortage following the outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country, he added.
