Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) on Saturday extended the holidays for all factories at the eight Export Processing Zones (EPZs) until April 25 in a bid to limit the transmission of coronavirus.
“As the overall coronavirus situation remains unchanged in the country, all factories at the eight EPZs under Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) will remain shut until April 25,” said a Bepza press release signed by its General Manager (PR) Nazma Binte Alamgir.
The decision was made in line with the government’s decision to ensure the safety of workers, said Bepza adding that the factories which have emergency shipment order and are making protective gears will remain out of the purview of the decision.
