Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has inaugurated a new Border Outpost (BOP) at Chutipur, in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district.
Brigadier General Md Humayun Kabir, commander of BGB’s Jashore Region, officially inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Chutipur BOP’ on Sunday as the chief guest.
The BGB took the initiative to enhance operational capability and ensure robust border security and curb smuggling and other transboundary crimes.
He also visited the designated operational area under the Neeldumur Battalion (BGB-17).
The commander also visited a free medical camp organised by BGB at the Chutipur BOP for underprivileged local patients and observed a food assistance program for the poor and distressed.
He also exchanged views with journalists present at the site.
Acting Sector Commander of Khulna Sector and Director (Operations) of Jashore Region Lt Col Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Sikder, Commanding Officer of Satkhira Battalion (BGB-33) Lt Col Md Ashraful Haque and Commanding Officer of Neeldumur Battalion (BGB-17) Lt Col Md Shahariar Rajib, along with other BGB officials, junior officers, personnel of various ranks, invited guests and representatives from print and electronic media, were present there.
