“BNP is speaking like a helpless person witnessing the nationwide relief activities of the Awami League and the government,” he said after attending a views-exchange meeting with leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) at the party chief’s Dhanmondi political office.
Mentioning that the government has brought over one-thirds of the total population under aid schemes during the coronavirus outbreak, the minister said while BNP is busy with photo sessions at several places of the capital city.
The government is providing rice for Tk 10 per kg to 5 million families for seven months a year, he said, adding that arrangements are being made to provide ration cards to 5 million families that will ultimately cover 50 million people.

Responding to another query, Hasan Mahmud said those who are involved in irregularities in relief distribution are being brought to book.
