After a boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea, bodies are washing ashore along the coast of Brega, Libya. It is believed that among the migrants who drowned, there were also Bangladeshis.
Various sources have reported that 20 Bangladeshi bodies have been found so far, but this has not been confirmed by the embassy.
According to Bangladesh Embassy in Libya, all 20 dead bodies have already been buried at Ajdadia, a place 40 km far from Brega.
The dead bodies were about to be decomposed.
No sources could confirm the nationality of the deceased. However, local Red Crescent assumed that all of them are Bangladeshi nationals.
No documents were found with them.
The place of occurrence is under the jurisdiction of Eastern Government with capital in Benghazi.
The Embassy is yet to obtain clearance to visit the place of occurrence.
