Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has recovered a body of a Rohingya boatman, who was abducted in January this year and buried after being killed in a house of Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased was identified as Syed Amin, 40, a boatman of Chakmarkul Rohingya camp of Ukhiya.
Three Rohingya men were detained in this connection after conducting a drive at Hakimpara Camp-14 of Ukhia, confirmed SP Sihab Kaisar Khan, commander of APBn-8, on Saturday night.
The detainees were- Islam, 22, Abdul Monnaf, 26, and Ilias, 28.

SP Sihab said, Syed Amin was abducted from camp No 21 in January and brought to camp No 14. The kidnappers later demanded Tk80,000 from his family as ransom.
Later, some 20-25 people killed Amin and buried him in an abandoned house of a boatman named Yakub.
The SP also said the body, exhumed from Yakub's house on Saturday morning, was identified by his wife.

Legal processes are underway in this regard, the SP added.
