In memory of Riedwan Habibur Rahman, a research associate under the Faith and Development Project at the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), Brac University, the launch of the "Riedwan Aritro Internship" was announced Thursday.
Manzoor Hasan, executive director of CPJ, made the announcement at a programme in the capital. The event was attended by many of Riedwan's family members, teachers, friends, and colleagues.
Riedwan, also known as Aritro, was born in 1996 in Faridpur. His promising life was cut short by a heart attack in the early hours of April 8 this year.
Before joining CPJ, Riedwan worked at BBC Media Action as a research assistant and at the Center for Bangladesh Studies as a programme assistant.
Also, he had the offer to pursue an MA in the anthropology of food from London's School of Oriental and African Studies in September this year.
