The China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) has emerged as a powerful platform for international media engagement, aiming to deepen mutual understanding and promote responsible global journalism.
Under the initiative of the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA), the CIPCC regularly hosts journalists from across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and other parts of the world, offering them unique opportunities to experience China beyond the headlines.
As of April 1, 2025, it has already welcomed more than one hundred journalists from different corners of the world.
During the recent visit of Bangladesh’s interim government's Chief Adviser, Prof Muhammad Yunus, to China, journalists participating in the CIPCC programme got an opportunity to meet with Prof Yunus.
During the meeting, Nobel laureate Prof Yunus highlighted the importance of multilateralism and called for greater unity among Asian nations.
The core mission of the CIPCC is to foster media co-operation and cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world.
By inviting international journalists for extended residencies, the programme encourages firsthand exploration of China’s development, policies, people, and press landscape.
Through this initiative, the CIPCC aims to promote fair and balanced reporting on China, support media capacity building in developing countries, facilitate partnerships between Chinese and international news agencies, and enhance people-to-people diplomacy through media dialogue.

Journalists participating in CIPCC programmes engage in a range of field visits, training workshops, and media tours across the country.
The programme also includes seminars with scholars, diplomats, and policymakers; visits to leading Chinese newsrooms and state media organisations; collaborative media projects between local and international reporters; and cultural immersion through festivals, language classes, and community interaction.
Such activities are designed to equip foreign journalists with deeper context and a more nuanced view of China, which they can then reflect in their reporting back home.
Since the beginning, the CIPCC has welcomed hundreds of journalists who have gone on to become key media figures in their respective countries.
Platforms like the CIPCC play a crucial role in bridging communication gaps, fighting misinformation, and amplifying voices across borders.
With an eye on transparency, dialogue, and professional development, the CIPCC continues to open new avenues for journalistic exchange in the 21st century.
